Angus Glen to host Summer Swing event to promote women’s golf

Golf Canada Foundation and Angus Glen Golf Club are thrilled to announce the RBC Wealth Management Summer Swing in support of Golf Canada Foundation.

Being held on Sunday August 7th, this event will celebrate women’s golf participation and all of the health and social benefits the sport can offer to avid golfers, casual players and new enthusiasts. With four mini golf clinics, delicious food from various local chefs, fun cocktails, a silent auction and shopping with Saks Fifth Avenue Canada,The Summer Swing is the perfect afternoon for all women – from those who have never picked up a club to advanced golfers.

“What a wonderful way to welcome women into a sport that has been a traditional men’s sport for far too long,” says Cailey Stollery, President of Angus Glen Golf Club and host to The Summer Swing. “We are really looking forward to offering a fun, non-competitive way for women to try their hand at some swings, chips and putts!”

Proceeds from The Summer Swing will go to support women’s and girls’ golf programs through the Golf Canada Foundation. The Foundation is the leading source for golf philanthropy in Canada, awarding more than $5 million in grants and scholarships since 1982. The Foundation’s mission is to support and promote programs that increase participation in golf by engaging players of all ages and abilities across the country.

“The Golf Canada Foundation is looking forward to this wonderful event, and increasing women’s participation in golf while supporting our ability to help our young athletes excel globally,” said Martin Barnard, Chief Executive Officer, of the Golf Canada Foundation.

RBC Wealth Management is the Presenting Sponsor of this event. Other sponsors include Meehan Wealth Management, Nike and Town + Country BMW.
