How to avoid the world’s biggest myth about putting
If you’re struggling with your putting, Martin Chuck from Tour Striker Academy offers some great insight and destroys one of the myths that has plagued golfers for years.
Hi, it’s Martin, and I’m sure you’ve heard…
The fastest way to improve your score is to improve your PUTTING.
It’s basic math:
Putting accounts for about 40% of your total score!
Again, I’m sure you know how important it is.
And I’m sure you practice (even if it’s only before a round of golf).
So the question is…
Why are you not improving?
Vince Lombardi, considered the greatest football coach in history, famously said:
“Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect.”
So, if are practicing the wrong way…
You’re really just grooving BAD habits.
Well, if you’re like most of the golfers I see…
You’re practicing your putting according to one of the biggest myths in golf:
Straight back and straight through is NOT a natural putting motion.
My fellow pros and I know this…
But I’m not sure it has filtered down to the majority of golfers yet:
A natural putting stroke does not move, “straight back and straight through.”
It’s an arc.
