Fairways Special Events
For those unfamiliar with our Special Events, our aim is to showcase public golf courses and private clubs in the region to adult golfers of all ages and skill levels. We usually do six to eight events a year and they’re open to men and women. The format is strictly non-competitive – we want you to experience golf on some great courses and just have fun.
There’s no fee to join and you can play as many or as few events as you wish.
We don’t do shotgun starts. Everybody plays from the first tee. And you can play whichever set of tees is appropriate for your skill level.
We don’t do banquets. Food and beverage will be available at all the events but it’s your choice.
We don’t do competition. But thanks to our sponsors, we will have some nice draw prizes at each event.

Other information
What happens in the case of bad weather?
A decision on playability due to weather will be made on the day of play and is up to the host club. If play has to be cancelled prior to starting play or mid-round, rain checks will be issued.
What is the policy if I have to withdraw?
Payment in full is required when you register for an event but you may cancel up to 2 weeks prior with a $25 cancellation fee. Any cancellations up to 48 hours prior to play will have a $50 cancellation fee. Inside of 48 hours, there are no refunds. Another option if you have to cancel is to find a replacement player. There’s no cost to transfer your spot.
Can I bring more than a foursome?
Absolutely. Many of our players use our events to entertain clients or convene a group of friends. We’ll get you grouped together.
How can I determine who I play with?
A week before each event, the coordinator will send you an email about your tee time and partner preferences. That way if you and three friends all register as singles, we can get you paired up.
