Chop some logs
Martin Chuck has a great visual here on how to use your hands to develop a natural rhythm to your golf swing.
Martin Chuck:
I want you to think about chopping logs.
When you raise an axe and let it fall, there’s a natural rhythm to it. Weight shifts. Hands release. Body follows through. You don’t have to think about any of it. It just happens.
The golf swing has that same feeling when it’s working. And in this week’s video, I’m going to show you exactly how to find it.
Here’s what most golfers get wrong: they hear “use your hands” and it turns into chaos. Flipping, casting, throwing the club at the ball.
But what I’m teaching isn’t that.
When the hands, the body rotation, and the weight shift all work together, the hands aren’t casting. They’re completing a chain. The axe falls because everything underneath it moved first.
That’s the feel I want you to take to the range this week.
