“I played well today, with only one hole mistake. It’s nice to win something, as I’ve played well the last month and a half, with the worst I’ve finished was top four.”
The win “feels amazing considering I grew up here at Brampton. I worked here as a kid, played a thousand rounds of golf, and left a number of years ago, so it was a real thrill to come back with my good friend Eamonn.
“I feel like together we make a good team and encouraged each other. We both made good approach shots throughout the round.”
Following a silver medalist finish in 2020, Chinner said it “feels really good” to win a championship. “It’s been a while since I’ve won anything, so this really means a lot. I’m very happy.”
During the post win interview, Ly speaks of how great it feels to win the championship adding, “especially because I won it in my hometown.”
The tournament was shortened to 54 holes after bad weather caused delays in the first two rounds.
“coming from Covid, this feels like I’ve won it for the first time again, so it’s kind of special. It feels like I haven’t won for a while.”
“I made a lot of putts and my mental game just really kept me in it. I could’ve lost myself a couple of times, but I just stayed level headed and positive.”
