Brooke Henderson honoured by LPGA for community impact

Canadian golf star Brooke Henderson has been recognized for her leadership and charitable work away from the golf course.

The 28-year-old from Smiths Falls, Ont., was selected as the 2026 recipient of the fan-voted Dow Impact Award after receiving more than half of the 6,900 votes cast among four finalists.

Henderson will receive a $25,000 cash award, along with an equal contribution to a charity of her choice.

“I am incredibly honoured to receive the Dow Impact Award,” Henderson said. “Giving back and helping others has always been very important to me.”

Henderson thanked the fans who voted and said she hopes the recognition encourages others to become involved in their communities.

The 14-time LPGA Tour winner has used her platform to support children’s health, cancer research and cardiac care throughout her career.

Her work with Canadian Pacific Kansas City and the CPKC Women’s Open has helped raise more than $4.5 million for cardiac care initiatives.

Henderson and her sister, Brittany, also raised $27,000 through a golf clinic in Ottawa in support of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital and Wildlife Fund Canada.

She has also supported charitable events led by fellow LPGA Tour players, including Brittany Lincicome and Morgan Pressel.

Henderson’s community work complements a professional record that includes 14 LPGA Tour victories, two major championships and more than $16.8 million in official career earnings.

Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul finished second in the fan voting, while Danielle Kang and Angel Yin were the other finalists.
