There was a time when Belleville was primarily thought of as a convenient stop along Highway 401 — somewhere between Toronto, Kingston and Ottawa. Golfers, however, have increasingly discovered a different reason to stop: Belleville and the surrounding Bay of Quinte region have quietly developed into one of Eastern Ontario’s most attractive golf destinations.

This week we’re highlighting Parry Sound, Ontario, a bustling town about 2 hours north of Toronto, known mostly as a tourist destination and a jumping off point for cottages on one of the coastal islands in Georgian Bay.

Windsor ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to road trip destinations – everything from ease of travel to excellent golf courses to great value but one that stands out is the geography. With Detroit right across the river, you’re really getting two cities in one.

Back in 1969, there was another road trip to Woodstock. That one involved over half a million people descending on Max Yasgur’s dairy farm in upstate New York for probably the most famous folk festival ever.
