CJGA and Mexican Junior Golf Association form strategic partnership
Toronto, Canada / Mexico City, Mexico: The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) and the Mexican Junior Golf Association (MJGA) are proud to announce a strategic and mutually beneficial partnership that will strengthen junior golf development in both Canada and Mexico. This international alignment is designed to provide expanded competitive opportunities for young golfers in both nations while fostering global talent development and sportsmanship.
This new partnership is a significant step forward in advancing junior golf excellence, giving Canadian and Mexican junior players increased access to top-tier events, enhanced pathways to collegiate and professional opportunities, and a deeper international playing field. It aligns seamlessly with the recent announcement of the CJGA’s partnership with the Bermuda Golf Association, further solidifying the CJGA’s commitment to international collaboration in junior golf.
“We are thrilled to join forces with the Mexican Junior Golf Association in our shared mission to elevate junior golf,” said Shayne Dysart, Director of Operations for the CJGA. “This partnership not only strengthens ties between our two great countries but also opens up new opportunities for junior golfers to compete at the highest levels and gain valuable international experience.”
The collaboration between the CJGA and MJGA will include cross-border event opportunities, recognition of rankings and exemptions, and the exchange of best practices in junior golf development. Additionally, the CJGA and MJGA will be providing tournament exemptions, ensuring junior golfers from both countries have increased opportunities to compete at premier events.
Starting in 2026, the CJGA will also be working with the MJGA and their golf and resort partners to host a number of events in Mexico. This initiative will further expand international playing opportunities and provide CJGA members with the chance to experience high-level competition in Mexico’s world-class golf destinations.
In addition, the MJGA will be sending a team to compete in the CJGA’s North America Cup, a prestigious event that has been owned and managed by the CJGA for the past 20 years. This tournament has been a staple in junior golf, bringing together top-tier talent from across North America, and the CJGA is proud to welcome Mexico as a participating nation.
“We are incredibly excited about this partnership with the CJGA,” said Javier Villanueva, General Manager of the Mexican Junior Golf Association. “Our shared vision for junior golf excellence will create a wealth of opportunities for our players and help grow the game on an international level.”
With this groundbreaking international partnership, the CJGA and MJGA continue to set new standards in junior golf development and competition, paving the way for the next generation of golf champions.
