Presidents Cup to bring themed festival to downtown Montreal
MONTREAL – The Presidents Cup will bring a Presidents Cup-themed festival called Fan Village at Nouveau Centre, the downtown experiential destination by Ivanhoé Cambridge. The four-day event is free to the public featuring local cuisine, live music and Presidents Cup watch parties, taking place September 26-29, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Esplanade PVM, at Place Ville Marie. The Fan Village is a celebration of the Presidents Cup’s return to Montreal, hosted at The Royal Montreal Golf Club, September 24-29.
“We are thrilled to team up with Nouveau Centre par Ivanhoe Cambridge to bring the Fan Village to Place Ville Marie,” said Executive Director Ryan Hart. “Leaning into the reputation our city holds for summer festivals, the Fan Fest will provide the community with fun and exciting experiences specific to the Presidents Cup while also celebrating culture, entertainment and cuisine unique to Montreal.”
The announcement was made ceremoniously at The Ring located at Place Ville Marie with government and tournament officials including Ryan Hart, Executive Director of the Presidents Cup, Caroline Proulx, Quebec Minister of Tourism, Annie Koutrakis, Parliamentary Secretary to the Federal Minister of Tourism, Vicki Grondin, City Councillor of Ville-Marie, and Mylène Gagnon, Vice President of Sales and Convention Services, Tourisme Montréal.
While the biennial team golf competition is played just outside the city at Royal Montreal Golf Club, Montrealers looking to experience the tournament without leaving the city can consider the Fan Village the ideal experience. The family-friendly event will feature a large video board and lounge seating to view the Presidents Cup broadcast, Closest to the Pin presented by adidas, the Birkenstock Interactive Zone, a 360-degree snapshot that provides a video sent directly to smartphones for social sharing presented by Rogers and a live DJ. Food and beverage options will be available for purchase onsite.
“We are excited to offer an opportunity for golf fans to watch the 2024 Presidents Cup live at the Esplanade PVM. This location in the heart of downtown promises to attract Montrealers and tourists to experience this prestigious tournament in a friendly environment as if they were there in person.” Annik Desmarteau, Managing Director, Offices, Québec, Ivanhoé Cambridge
