“It feels amazing,” said the 29-year-old. “Lorie Kane is a Canadian golf legend, so to be on the trophy her name is on is spectacular.”
When asked how it felt to have his name alongside Lee Trevino, Moe Norman and Arnold Palmer on the P.D. Ross trophy, Fleming fought back tears.
Hendershott wins $9000 for his efforts and his name joins the likes of Jim Rutledge, Dave Barr, Al Balding, and Moe Norman on the historic Albert Murray trophy.
“We are so pleased to round out our National Championship schedule at such a tremendous venue in Lookout Point Country Club,” said PGA of Canada president Teejay Alderdice.
The club proved to be a phenomenal test of golf when it previously hosted the DCM Women’s Championship in 2006.
“Lorie and the Henderson’s are going to be key figures in the golf industry for years to come and we are so excited to work with them to help continue to grow the sport.”
Amongst those he mentored are Dudley Jones; Kevin Thistle; Bob Lean and Charles Lorimer.
