Nestled at the foot of the Halton Hills in the shadow of the Niagara Escarpment, Hornby Glen Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole public track that was built in 1964 taking advantage of the area’s distinct rolling terrain.
The 77-player field featured many of Ontario’s top junior golfers, all of whom were looking to take home the championship title from the challenging and beautiful Moorland Course at the Legends Golf Resorts.
Grewal shot a course record 64 in the third round and a final round 68 to push her to 13-under par for the week in just her second LPGA event.
“It would be borderline unfair if he starts putting really good,” U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark said after finishing second. “I never want to wish ill on anybody, but if starts putting positive each week it’s going to be really hard to beat.”
Selection for the program is based on the athletes’ competitive performances and rankings in the U13, U15, and U17 divisions of the Junior Golf Pathway from the last season.
Duncan Mills of Edmonton, Tiffany Gordon (Calgary), the late Denzil Palmer of Montreal and Kim Locke (Toronto) will be celebrated later this summer for their outstanding contributions to Canadian golf.
Golf Canada’s 2024 Annual Meeting was conducted virtually on Thursday, March 7 with volunteers, staff, member clubs, and industry stakeholders participating.
