Ethan Reid (Toronto) and Florence Ho (Nepean) win NextGen Atlantic titles

HAMPTON, NB – Ethan Reid captured his first NextGen title in dramatic fashion with a playoff victory and Florence Ho’s early lead secured the win at the 2026 NextGen Atlantic Championship at the Hampton Golf Club in Hampton, N.B. on Thursday.

Reid of Toronto, Ont. entered the final round in second place, trailing Jacob Normandeau of Saint Jean sur Richelieu, Que. by one. Reid pulled ahead in the final round to lead the field through 16 holes at 4-over. On hole no.17 Reid bogeyed to drop into a tie and eventually head into a playoff with Dustin Zhao of Maple, Ont. and Ben Julie of Fenwick, Ont. Reid won with a par on the second playoff hole to secure the win. Reid finished the tournament at 5-over to earn his first win on the NextGen circuit. He recorded rounds of 72-72-74-218 and carded eight birdies through three rounds.

Ho of Nepean, Ont. entered the final round at 2-over par with a nine-shot lead over Ceilidh Spare of North Gower, Ont. and Cadence Tanouye of Mississauga, Ont. Ho shot 7-over 78 in the final round to secure the girls division title by seven shots. Ho recorded rounds of 73-71-78-222 and carded one eagle and six birdies to secure her first win on the NextGen circuit.

The field of 114 players (92 Junor Boys and 22 Junior Girls) teed off Tuesday with a cut following Wednesday’s second round.

The conclusion of Thursday’s final round marks the end of the 2026 NextGen Championship season as the final participants in next month’s Canadian Junior Boys and Junior Girls Championships begin to round out. Twelve winners (six boys and six girls) and many others that contended in this year’s NextGen Championship season will compete at Wascana Country Club in Regina, Sask. and TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ont. August 11-14 for the Canadian Junior Boys Championship and Canadian Junior Girls Championship respectively.
